Email Forwarding Does Not Forward

Email Forwarding is a feature included in our Premium DNS that reroutes all the emails from one email address to another. You can also forward all your domain’s incoming emails to a specific address, creating a catch-all email type of Email Forwarding service.

If you have set up Email Forwarding, you will need to allow up to 48 hours for the DNS records to propagate. If it still doesn't work after this waiting period, you will need to check your email settings.

Follow the steps below to test if your Email Forwarding is working correctly:

  1. Try sending an email to your own main email address and CC the email that you want to forward from.

For example, if you want to forward a mail from [email protected] to [email protected], your email format would look like this:

    To:[email protected]

    Cc:[email protected]
If everything is working properly, then you should receive (2) copies of the email - the original copy and the one that was forwarded automatically.

  2. If you received only (1) copy, then you might have a problem with your DNS settings. We suggest that you double check your MX Records and make sure that everything has been set correctly.

  3. If you don't receive any copy of the email at all, check your mail settings with your external mail provider.
It is possible that your URL forwarding is active prior to the Email Forwarding (or vice versa), as DNS caching for mail services (MX Records) may differ from www records by up to 24 hours.
