How to Manage DNS for Hosting Account
The Domain Name System (DNS) is used to translate a Domain Name into its corresponding IP Address. In simple terms, DNS is the way your browser knows where to take you when you enter a link or domain name on the internet.
Every Domain Name registered at Crazy Domains comes with free standard DNS, which includes standard DDoS protection and full control of the following records through the Account Manager:
If you've purchased regular Email Hosting, Web Hosting, or Windows Hosting with Crazy Domains, then you also have the option to manage your DNS via your Hosting Manager or cPanel. Before making any changes to your DNS, you need to ensure that you're using the correct Name Servers that will allow your DNS settings to work:
- ns1.syrahost.com
- ns2.syrahost.com
IMPORTANT
- If you currently have a working website or email with your domain name, changing name servers will interrupt these services.
- The instructions herein are applicable for domain names with ns1 and ns2.syrahost.com as their name servers. Check what name servers your domain name is using via Crazy Domains WHOIS lookup.
- If you have Microsoft Email Exchange with Crazy Domains and you are using the name servers ns1 and ns2.premium.exchange, manage DNS records in Exchange Manager instead.
- If you only have a domain name with Crazy Domains and is using the name servers ns1 and ns2.crazydomains.com, manage DNS records in account manager instead.
How to Manage DNS via Hosting Manager
After making sure that your domain's Name Servers are set correctly, you can manage your DNS through the cPanel for regular Web Hosting and Email Hosting and Plesk for Windows Hosting. Follow the steps below to do this on either cPanel or Plesk:
