How To Renew SSL Certificate Manually With a 3rd-Party Hosting Provider

Our SSL provides security and privacy to users that submit their information for online transactions. This is ideal for website owners with online stores, it allows data to be encrypted and prevents cybercriminals from stealing important information like credit card numbers, SSN, etc.

With this in mind, there are two keys to keeping your business trustworthy for your customers and keeping their information secured. First, get SSL to use the service. Second, renew your SSL Certificate.

Why You Should Renew

We recommend renewing your SSL once the option is available. This is to maintain the security of the information passed through your website.

If your SSL and other services are all hosted with Crazy Domains, renewing of SSL is easy. Please visit our linked guide to learn how to renew SSL.

But if your web hosting is with a 3rd-party hosting provider like GoDaddy, and you're only using our SSL service, then the renewal process will be manual since our system won’t be able to access your hosting provider’s server information. Continue reading this article to learn how.

IMPORTANT: For users with a 2 year SSL service plan, normally renewal will be after the second year from the time of purchase or renewal.

However, due to an industry-wide requirement issued by Apple and Google, declaring that any two-year TLS Certificate issued after August 30, 2020, will be distrusted in their browsers.

Thus, we recommend renewing your SSL Certificates a year after from the time of purchase or renewal.
