How Does Staging Work on WordPress Hosting

A staging site, to put it simply, is a duplicate or a clone of your live website. Since it is often offline or inaccessible to the public, it is a great option to use to test out scripts, plugins, and themes before pushing them live on your actual site. Whatever modifications you make on your staging site will not affect your original WordPress site and its settings. With that said, your visitors would not experience any interruptions while you are working on developing your website. Moreover, using a staging site reduces the risk of experiencing downtime.

In this article, we’ll guide you on how to create a staging site via your WordPress Hosting Manager.

Step 1. Log in to your Account Manager.

Step 2. Click on the Web Hosting option from the menu bar at the top of the page.

Step 3. Click on the domain name that is registered to WordPress Hosting that you want to manage.

Step 4. On the WordPress Hosting manager page, scroll down to the Domain Name section of the page. Then, click the [v] arrow located at the right side of the tab.

Step 5. Click the Staging tab and the click on the Create Staging button.

Step 6. Click the Confirm and Create button to proceed with creating your staging site.

It usually takes a couple of minutes for the staging site to finish deploying. You will be notified on your email as soon as it is done.

If the staging site is done, you will be able to access it and start with your modifications.

Once you’re satisfied with your website content and modifications, click the Transfer to Production button so changes made on your staging site is available online.
